1. What this POC collects
Com Bids stores account details, approximate service areas, circle memberships, project descriptions, photos, quotes, messages, verification documents, reviews, home records and basic security/audit activity.
2. How information is used
Information is used to operate the marketplace, match relevant projects, compare quotes, review trust documents, prevent misuse, respond to reports and maintain private home histories.
3. What other people see
Public projects show an Oakville neighbourhood and postal-code area—not a full street address. Service pros see project information needed to decide whether to quote. Community members see business profiles, verification status and submitted quotes. Private messages are visible only to the participants.
4. Photos and verification documents
Uploaded files are stored outside normal public browsing and delivered through controlled requests. Administrators can access verification documents for review. A production release should add formal retention periods, specialist verification providers, malware scanning and encrypted backups.
5. Your choices
Users can edit profile information, leave optional circles and remove trusted-helper access. Account deletion, information-export and correction requests should be sent to hello@combids.onworld.ca during the pilot.
Before accepting real customers, Com Bids should complete a Canadian privacy review covering PIPEDA and any applicable provincial requirements.
