1. Working proof of concept
Com Bids is currently a demonstration and pilot marketplace focused on Oakville, Ontario. Sample profiles, projects, reviews and verification records are clearly provided for demonstration. Do not rely on sample information as a real-world contractor recommendation.
2. Marketplace role
Com Bids helps community members and independent service professionals find one another and organize project information. Com Bids does not perform, supervise or guarantee the work, and is not a party to the service agreement unless a future written policy states otherwise.
Smart Assist and Smart Match provide planning guidance only. Community members make the final hiring decision.
3. Accounts
Provide accurate information, protect your password and use only your own account. Administrators may pause accounts when identity, safety, fraud or misuse concerns require review.
4. Projects and quotes
Community members must have authority to arrange the work. Service pros must describe prices, assumptions, exclusions, taxes, timing and warranties accurately. Regulated work must be completed by appropriately licensed professionals with required permits.
For Ontario home-renovation and repair work, users remain responsible for a written agreement and any applicable consumer-protection requirements.
5. Safety, payments and disputes
The POC does not process or hold money. Do not send cash, gift cards or deposits through untraceable methods. Users should report suspicious conduct and contact emergency or public authorities when appropriate.
Before commercial launch, these terms require review by qualified Canadian legal counsel, along with payment, insurance, tax, privacy, marketplace and provincial consumer-protection policies.
